Shapers Club (formerly UWL Surfboards), kitesurf craftsman in Marennes

Shapers Club is a surfboard workshop founded in 1991 under the name UWL Surfboards, La Rochelle's historic shaper, and based in Marennes since 2024 in the Club House of the Grossines business park (13 rue des Entrepreneurs). The venue covers about 1,800 m2 and combines a workshop, surf shop, bar and coworking space.

The workshop builds custom surfboards: the customer chooses the shaper, the shape, the materials and the finish. Several in-house brands coexist: UWL Surfboards (longboards and funboards), Cardinal Surfboards (high-performance shortboards) and Addiction Surfboards (retro shapes: fish, twins). Resident shapers from Australia, California, Hawaii, Japan and Europe work there and take orders, with for example a guest shaper announced for 2026 in a limited series.

The Club House also offers board repair, rental, guided workshop tours, a training area and venue hire. It hosts events, including a fifth Board Out Day announced for September 2026.

Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm.
