Surfboards by Chris Birch, kitesurf craftsman in Satellite Beach

Surfboards by Chris Birch is the workshop of shaper Chris Birch in Satellite Beach, Florida. He started surfing in 1970 and competed in the Eastern Surfing Association as a teenager, then learned board building from 1978 at Natural Art Surfboards in Cocoa Beach, from finishing through to shaping. He launched his own label in 2004 and opened his own factory in Satellite Beach in 2013; 2026 is his 48th year in the surfboard industry.

The workshop builds custom surfboards from performance shortboards to classic longboards: thrusters (Rabble Rouser, Velocity), fish designs (Afishionado, Element, Sweet Pea), all-round shapes and longboards (Chauffeur, Mini Chauffeur, Buford Stick), with a choice of fin setup on several models.
