Velika Beach is a spot on the east coast of Thessaly, just north of Agiokambos, facing the northern Aegean Sea. This long sandy beach offers similar conditions to its southern neighbour, with direct exposure to the Meltemi (N/NE). The east-facing coast receives the dominant Aegean winds side-onshore to onshore. View of the Sporades islands offshore. Authentic Greek atmosphere away from mass tourism.

Wind specificities
The Meltemi (N/NE) is the dominant summer wind, arriving side-onshore to onshore on this east-facing coast. The Ossa mountains behind create flow compression that reinforces the coastal wind. East/ESE winds cross the Aegean and arrive directly onshore. Reliable afternoon thermals in summer. Wind conditions similar to neighbouring Agiokambos, with slightly more open exposure to the north.
Hazards
Potentially strong Meltemi — assess your skills. Swell in sustained east/NE wind. Possible current along the coast. Open Aegean fetch generates committed conditions in strong wind. No specific supervision for water sports.
