Lassing Park is a kitesurfing spot located in St. Petersburg, on the east coast of the Pinellas peninsula, facing Tampa Bay. This public park offers direct access to the bay's shallow waters with a sandy bottom. The easterly trade winds blow directly onshore from the bay, providing regular flat water conditions. It's a spot popular with local St. Pete riders, with a laid-back atmosphere typical of this city known for its record sunshine. The park offers parking and good launching space on the grass.

The Tampa Bay water body is shallow to moderate with a sandy bottom. In easterly winds, conditions are flat to lightly choppy depending on fetch. The water is warm but can be more murky than the gulf side. The riding area extends into the bay with good space. The tide influences depth and currents.

Tidal currents in the bay. Watch for stingrays in the sand. Boat traffic in the bay. In westerly winds, conditions are offshore from this spot — use a gulf side spot instead. Respect park zones and other users.
