Overview
Hullets Reef is a reef spot located at Cape St Francis, just south of Ann Ave. This reef produces quality waves during southwest swells. It is one of the historic surf spots of the South African coast. For kiting, the reef offers committing wave riding conditions, reserved for advanced riders. The coast is very exposed to south and southwest swells.

Waves of 1-3 metres on reef. Rocky bottom — very dangerous at low tide. Strong currents along the reef. Water temperature between 18-22°C. 3/2 wetsuit in summer, 4/3 in winter. Helmet recommended.

Access from residential streets of Cape St Francis. Small informal parking. Walk required to access the reef. Facilities in Cape St Francis village.

Southeast wind blows side-onshore on this exposed coast. Position on the cape offering maximum wind exposure. Strength of 15-28 knots in summer. WSW is onshore with very powerful conditions. The cape creates local wind accelerations.
Hazards
Shallow rocky reef — risk of serious injury. Powerful waves. Strong currents. Sharks present. Very exposed coast. Reserved for advanced riders with reef experience. Do not ride at low tide. Do not ride alone.
