Overview

Zalew Mietkowski (Mietkow reservoir) is an artificial lake located in Lower Silesia, about 40 km southwest of Wroclaw. It is the main kitesurfing spot in the Wroclaw area. The water body is about 9 km2 with moderate depth. The bottom is sandy in places. The lake offers good sailing distances and flat water to moderately choppy conditions depending on the wind. West and southwest winds are the most frequent. The reservoir is very popular with riders from Wroclaw, especially on weekends. The season runs from May to October. Several access points and beaches are available around the lake.
