Gdansk, the great port city on the Polish Baltic coast, offers several kitesurfing possibilities. The main spots are along Stogi and Brzezno beaches, facing the Baltic Sea. Conditions are typical of the Baltic: chop in north winds, calmer conditions in offshore winds. The bottom is sandy and launching is from wide beaches. It is an urban spot, easily accessible but can be busy with swimmers in summer. Prevailing winds are from the west and northwest. Gdansk is also an excellent starting point to reach the Hel Peninsula spots, about 1 hour by road.
