Overview

Cabo Frio is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in the state of Rio de Janeiro, famous for its powerful and constant NE winds. The city is located in the Regiao dos Lagos, where an upwelling phenomenon creates cold waters and reinforced winds. The ocean spot offers wave conditions with NE side-shore to side-on wind. The proximity of the Lagoa de Araruama also allows flat water sessions. An essential spot for Brazilian kitesurfing.
