Overview

The Oldman River Dam Reservoir is a spectacular water body near Pincher Creek, at 1115 m altitude, in the Rocky Mountain foothills. This region is famous for being Alberta's windiest area, with the most powerful Chinooks in Canada.

The Oldman Dam, built in 1991, created a reservoir in a deep valley framed by the foothills. Chinook winds are channeled and amplified here, regularly exceeding 50 knots. Spot reserved for advanced riders able to handle extreme conditions. Foothills landscape with Rocky Mountain views. Season from May to October.
