Kitesurf spot at Saint-Prime, on the northwest shore of Lac Saint-Jean. This village is known for its cheese (Perron cheese factory). The spot faces east with good fetch across the lake. Saint-Prime offers pleasant access with its municipal beach. Lac Saint-Jean is renowned for its warm summer waters and long sand beaches. East and northeast winds are particularly favourable on this shore.
Lac Saint-Jean, freshwater. Warm water in summer (20-24°C). Good easterly fetch (25-30 km). Very shallow sandy bottom for dozens of metres from shore. Short chop forming quickly in east wind. The shallow lake generates close-spaced waves. Ideal learning conditions in moderate wind.

Violent and sudden summer thunderstorms — the lake is very exposed. Short steep waves in strong wind. The lake is vast — don't venture too far. Shallows possible. Water cooling rapidly at start and end of season. Ashuapmushuan River mouth nearby with possible current.
