Overview

Lac de Clairvaux is a lake at Clairvaux-les-Lacs (Jura), with a 64 ha Grand Lac and a private 21 ha Petit Lac. It is used for kiting (mainly in winter), windsurfing and wingfoiling. The beach is fine sand with a gentle slope. The Base nautique de Clairvaux is based there.

According to an operator, the wind blows exclusively from the south there; no riding in a northerly, because the town blocks the wind. Few strong-wind periods: small gear advised.

Hazards

Not usable in summer because of the swimming area. Stakes just below the surface to locate before wingfoiling. Motor craft banned, except electric ones.
