Sorico is at the northern end of Lake Como (Lombardy), at the "La Punta" beach, between the Mera and Adda inflows, listed as good for windsurfing with the Breva. On the north of the lake, the southerly Breva, a thermal wind, rises from late morning or around noon (12-22 knots); the north-easterly Tivano blows in the morning, at 15-25 knots, sometimes. Sources differ on the timing and direction of the Tivano.
