Overview

Lacona Beach is one of the largest beaches on the island of Elba, located on the south coast of the island in the Gulf of Lacona. This fine sand bay offers a magnificent setting with crystal-clear waters, surrounded by green hills. The spot is exposed to south winds (Ostro, Scirocco) and southeast winds that enter the gulf. In Scirocco conditions, conditions can be excellent with enough fetch to generate small chop. The sandy bottom and gradual depth make the spot accessible.

Parking

Paid parking in summer at the entrance to Lacona beach. Limited spaces in high season. The island of Elba is accessible by ferry from Piombino (approximately 1 hour crossing).

Hazards

Bay fairly open to the south with possible waves in strong Scirocco. Rocks at the ends of the bay. Pleasure boat traffic in summer. Swimming area to be respected.
