On the water
Bay of Fundy with some of the world's most extreme tides (12-16 m tidal range). Very powerful tidal currents. Cold water year-round (6-14°C). Riding only possible in a narrow window around high tide. Rocky and muddy bottom. Strong chop created by wind/current interaction.
Hazards
MAJOR HAZARD: tidal currents among the most powerful in the world. Extreme tidal range (12-16 m) creates irresistible currents. Riding ONLY for experts with thorough knowledge of local tides. Very cold water. Dangerous rocky bottom. Foreshore exposes very rapidly — risk of being stranded. Always consult tide tables and ride with a partner.
