Overview
Kavouri-Divani is a spot on the Kavouri peninsula, between Voula and Vouliagmeni on the Athenian Riviera. This rocky cape creates a partially protected body of water on its east side, offering interesting conditions for kiting and wingfoil.
The spot benefits from the S/SSW thermal breeze like the entire south coast of Athens, but the cape's geography can create local accelerations and corner effects that make the wind slightly more technical than at Voula or Palaio Faliro.

The spot works with the S/SSW thermal breeze in the afternoon (2-7 PM). The peninsula offers partially protected water on the east side. Less crowded for sailing than Voula or Vouliagmeni. The rocky cape offers a good visual landmark for riders.

On the water
Saronic Gulf water with slight chop created by the cape effect. Rocky bottom around the cape, sandy further out. Clear water, cleaner than in the urban areas further north. Temperature: 23-27°C in summer. Depth increases quickly around the cape.
Parking
Limited parking on the Kavouri peninsula. Some spaces along the coastal road. The area is upscale residential. The Divani Palace Resort is nearby. Bus access from central Athens. In high season, parking is very competitive.
Wind specificities
Dominant S/SSW thermal breeze, reinforced by the cape effect of the Kavouri peninsula. Wind can accelerate around the cape, creating zones of stronger, gustier wind. Typical strength: 12-20 knots. During Meltemi, NE wind arrives side-offshore, not recommended except for experienced riders.
Hazards
Rocks around the Kavouri peninsula — do not approach the cape too closely. Currents around the cape. Significant and sudden depth. Pleasure boats and yachts in this upscale residential area. With NE wind (Meltemi), dangerous side-offshore conditions. Swimmers on the small cape beaches.
