Overview

Camps Bay is an iconic Cape Town beach, nestled between the Twelve Apostles and Lion's Head. This stunning white sand beach lined with palm trees is mainly known as a tourist beach, but it can offer kite conditions when the south-easterly Cape Doctor passes over the mountains offshore. Conditions are very gusty and technical due to the mountain's effect on wind. The spot is not ideal for kiting — the Bloubergstrand beaches are far more suitable — but advanced locals ride here occasionally.
