Overview

Knebel Vig is a sheltered bay at the foot of Mols Bjerge National Park on the Djursland peninsula. The bay is renowned for its exceptional flat water conditions: in southwesterly winds, a sandbank creates a lagoon effect with perfectly flat water, ideal for freestyle. The sandy, shallow bottom with a long standing-depth area makes it an excellent spot.

Flat to slightly choppy water in the sheltered bay. Sandy bottom, shallow water. In sustained easterly winds, some chop can develop. The bay offers good protection from swell.

Hazards

Sandbank sometimes just below the surface, difficult to see in cloudy weather. Risk of fin strikes on the sandbank. Some scattered rocks along the shore.
