Sand Island - Tapora is a remote spot located in Kaipara Harbour, northwest of Auckland. This sandbank in the largest natural harbour in the Southern Hemisphere offers exceptional flat water for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. W, NW and SW winds are dominant. The spot is suitable for advanced riders due to the remoteness and powerful tidal currents of the Kaipara. Access by boat or on foot at low tide. Wild and preserved landscape.
