Overview

Celilo Park is a kitesurfing spot on the Columbia River, east of The Dalles in Oregon. This historic site is located where the ancient Celilo Falls once stood, waterfalls sacred to Native American nations, submerged when The Dalles Dam was built in 1957. The spot is in the transition zone between the gorge and the arid plateau of eastern Oregon. Westerly thermal winds remain effective, reinforced by the heat of the inland plateau.
