Oregon Inlet-South Side / Hatteras kitesurf, wingfoil and windsurf spot
United States · Caroline du Nord
Overview
Oregon Inlet - South Side is located at the northern tip of Hatteras Island, just south of the Bonner Bridge (replaced by Marc Basnight Bridge) spanning Oregon Inlet. This inlet connects the Atlantic Ocean to Pamlico Sound. The spot is advanced due to extremely powerful inlet currents. The south side area provides access to wild ocean beach — it's the beginning of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. The beach is spectacular but currents make riding dangerous. Spot reserved for experienced riders.
