Overview

The Hook is a kitesurfing spot on the Columbia River in Hood River, Oregon, just west of the Event Site and Sandbar. Its name comes from the hook-shaped point of land that extends into the river. This spot offers an alternative launch area when the Event Site and Sandbar are too crowded. The Hook benefits from the same legendary Gorge thermal winds and offers a slightly more protected waterway thanks to the land point.
