Overview

Crawdad Cove is a spot on Lake Mead, slightly north of Boulder Beach, near Las Vegas, Nevada. This cove offers sheltered access to the lake with turquoise waters framed by red sandstone cliffs. Afternoon thermal wind blows from the south/southwest, created by the intense heating of the surrounding desert. The cove offers some shelter from the main water body, with slightly calmer conditions than Boulder Beach. Like all of Lake Mead, the water level has dropped significantly and access points keep changing.
