Overview

Galu Beach is one of the most popular kitesurfing spots in Kenya, located just south of Diani Beach in Kwale County. This long white sand beach faces east onto the Indian Ocean. The offshore coral reef protects the lagoon and creates ideal flat water conditions for kitesurfing. The southeast trade winds blow reliably during the Kusi season (June to October). It is a perfect spot for beginners and intermediates thanks to the shallow waters and consistent wind.
