Santa Maria is a stunning bay on the northeast coast of Paros, near Naoussa. This north-facing white sand beach receives the N/NNE Meltemi directly onshore, offering chop and small wave conditions. Santa Maria is known as one of the most beautiful beaches on Paros with its crystal clear waters. The spot is popular for kitesurfing and windsurfing, with a well-exposed riding area. Proximity to Naoussa, the charming fishing village, adds to the appeal.

Roadside parking at Santa Maria. Access from Naoussa (5 min drive). Some restaurants and beach bars. In high season, the beach is very busy.

The N/NNE Meltemi arrives directly onshore on this north-facing bay. Good exposure without channeling — wind arrives with full fetch from the northern Cyclades. 18-25 knots in summer. Onshore wind creates short chop in the bay. Building at noon, peaking in afternoon. Reliable season from June to September.
Hazards
Short powerful chop tiring in strong onshore. Cohabitation with swimmers in high season. Meltemi can exceed 25 knots. Strong sun and reflection.
