Overview

Brutal Beach (plage de Bonnegrâce) — the flagship beach of Six-Fours-les-Plages for windsurfing, wingfoiling and kitesurfing. A 1.2 km long pebble beach lined by the promenade du Général de Gaulle, next to the harbor.

Big waves generated by strong Tramontane in the western Mediterranean or by strong westerly wind. Best wave conditions with NW wind — waves are not very hollow. The best waves peel toward the eastern jetty. The spot lives up to its name when it's firing!

Sandy bottom (no bad surprises with the foil). Kite is banned in summer but wingfoil is allowed.

Access: Six-Fours town center, avenue de la Mer or via Sanary-sur-Mer. Take the "La Seyne" exit on the highway. Park along avenue de Gaulle facing the sea.

SW: THE star of the spot — waves, intense shorebreak. Perfect conditions for going big.
W: works very well.
NW (Mistral): best wave conditions. The best waves peel toward the east jetty. When the Mistral blows hard it's gusty and all over the place, but it gets good as soon as it calms down.

KITE BANNED IN SUMMER — wingfoil is still allowed.

SW: THE star of the spot — powerful waves, intense shorebreak. Perfect playground for experienced riders.

W: works very well, nice waves.

NW (Mistral): best conditions for clean waves. When it's strong it's a bit gusty and all over the place, but good as soon as it calms down.

S: works too.

E/NE: doesn't work here — go to La Coudoulière or Le Brusc.
