Overview

Point Chevalier is a popular urban spot located in the Waitemata Harbour, west of Auckland city centre. This beach offers a calm harbour body of water with views of the Harbour Bridge, much appreciated by local kitesurfers. SW to W and NE winds work well here. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediates thanks to its shallow waters. The Point Chevalier neighbourhood is lively with cafes and restaurants. Watch out for harbour maritime traffic and swimming zones.
