Herne Bay is an upscale residential neighborhood in central Auckland, located on the south shore of the Waitemata Harbour. The small beach offers a calm harbour water area with views of the Harbour Bridge and the North Shore. NE and SW winds work on this urban spot. The water area is suitable for beginners in wingfoil and paddle, but space is limited for kitesurfing. Watch out for harbour maritime traffic. Many cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood.
