Cheltenham Beach is an elegant beach on Auckland's North Shore, located in the residential neighborhood of Devonport. Facing northeast with views of Rangitoto Island, this beach offers a calm and sheltered water area in the Waitemata Harbour. NE winds work well here, creating pleasant side-shore conditions. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediates but space can be limited due to swimmers. Devonport is a charming historic neighborhood accessible by ferry from Auckland city center.
