South End Surf Shop occupies a historic brick building, built in 1941, at the south end of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. The building once housed a restaurant and part of the Glenn Hotel, and it is a landmark for locals. The shop was started by a local surfer who grew up on these beaches.
The shop sells surf gear and apparel, and rents bodyboards, surfboards, stand up paddleboards and bikes during opening hours. It also gives surf lessons (one-on-one or in groups, right in front of the shop) and stand up paddle lessons.
