Island Water Sports Miami

Island Water Sports Miami is a surf and skate shop on Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach. Its website describes it as Miami's oldest store of its kind, opened in 1981 as a franchise and now independently owned. It is run by Scott Payne, a surfer since the 1970s.

The shop sells surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, wakeboards, skimboards, skateboards, wetsuits, fins and apparel. The surf range includes Lost, Channel Islands, Firewire, Haydenshapes, Pyzel, Torq and Matt Kechele; the paddle range includes Surf Tech, Cat 5 and Surf Industries.

Staff help customers choose a board for their level, from first-timers to experienced surfers. The shop is open seven days a week.

Monday to Saturday 10 am to 7 pm, Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.
