Kona Surf Company

Kona Surf Company is a surf shop in Wildwood, in southern New Jersey, and one of the East Coast's long-standing surf addresses. Mike Sciarra, back from Oahu, built the business after learning surfboard and skateboard shaping on the North Shore in 1973; his son Chris relaunched the brand about a decade ago.

The flagship store sells surfboards, including an in-house line designed for East Coast waves that combines shaping know-how with CNC machining, as well as wetsuits, apparel and accessories from several brands.

Kona also offers surf lessons and camp, surfboard rentals and a second store, the Boardhouse.
