Shanti Surf Camp

Shanti Surf Camp is a boutique hotel and retreat centre in El Paredón, a fishing village on Guatemala's Pacific coast, about two and a half hours by road from Guatemala City. It has six suites, an infinity pool and an outdoor fitness and yoga area, two blocks from the ocean.

Its speciality is surf and yoga retreats for all levels, offered year-round. Stays include private surf lessons designed for beginners and intermediates, one to two hours a day, led by coaches from the local El Ride Surf team, described as national surf champions. The programme also includes yoga sessions, a round-trip shuttle from Guatemala City airport and meals.

The hotel also offers wakeboarding, kayaking and paddleboarding on the nearby mangrove channels, plus boat trips to watch humpback whales from December to May.
