La Sultana Oualidia

La Sultana Oualidia is a twelve-room hotel set on a hillside above the Oualidia lagoon, inside the nature reserve, between Safi and El Jadida. Every room and suite has its own terrace and jacuzzi, one of them perched in the trees. The hotel has an outdoor pool opening onto the lagoon, a heated indoor pool, a spa, a gym, a padel court, three restaurants and an oyster bar supplied by the neighbouring beds.

The hotel publishes a genuine surf service, called « Surf Therapy ». A surf school based in Oualidia all year since the early 1990s, which the hotel does not name, picks guests up from the hotel jetty or from the nearby beach; the session includes the instructor, boat assistance, a wetsuit and a board. The lagoon, sheltered by a narrow pass that lets the swell in one wave at a time, is the learning ground, from the age of 6. Experienced surfers are taken across to the ocean side, or to the neighbouring spots: Les Tomates, by the tomato farm 15 km south, and the tube wave near the fishing port of Safi, 50 km away. The hotel is listed in the Telegraph's « The World's Best Hotels for Surfing Holidays ».

No kitesurfing is offered or advertised by the hotel: kite appears only as a category label on third-party booking platforms. The other water activities are kayaking on the lagoon as part of a guided birdwatching outing, fishing, and private picnics on a secluded beach reached by boat. The concierge desk arranges the fishing-boat crossings.

The « Surf Therapy » service runs all year: the hotel states that a surf school is based in Oualidia year-round. No session times are published, outings follow the tide and are arranged through the concierge desk.
