Les Dunes de Flandre – Base nautique de la Licorne

The Licorne watersports base, also called the Maison du nautisme, is one of the bases of the Dunes de Flandre sailing school, the inter-municipal syndicate that manages the beaches of the Dunkirk coast from Dunkirk to Bray-Dunes. It stands on the Nicolas II sea wall in Malo-les-Bains.

In summer the base offers rentals, private lessons and instructor-led sessions in a range of watersports: bodyboard, single or double kayak, stand up paddle and giant stand up paddle, catamaran, windsurfing and wing foil. VeloPouss and Tiralo chairs are available for people with disabilities.

The Dunes de Flandre sailing school has five sites along the coast (La Marine in Dunkirk, La Licorne, Le Sémaphore in Zuydcoote, Le Clos Fleuri in Bray-Dunes and the cruising school) and runs with permanent and seasonal staff from April to October. The North Sea and the long sandy beaches suit board sports; sand yachting is also practised on the beach but is not listed as a sport on LetsKite.
