School Presentation
Fromentine Kite is a kitesurfing and wingfoiling school founded in 2004 and run by instructor François Lefroid, who reports more than 20,000 students trained. The meeting point is a hut in the sailing school car park, rue des Voiliers, in Fromentine (La Barre-de-Monts), between the mainland and Noirmoutier. The 2026 reopening was announced for 14 March.
Group kitesurfing courses last 4 consecutive hours a day, with at most four people per group and practice in shallow water from the first hour. Group wingfoil lessons are given from a boat in deep water, with a maximum of four students per instructor. Private lessons (twin-tip, surf, foilboard, wingfoil) take place on the sandbanks between the island and the mainland, and supervised sailing, with a boat, helmet and walkie-talkie, is offered to independent riders.
The spots used are Grande Côte beach in westerly winds and the Gois sandbanks in easterly winds. The school has two safety boats, equipment described as current-year with one kite per student, a shop (kitesurf, wingfoil, accessories, neoprene) and gift vouchers. It displays its AFKite affiliation.
