Island Surf School

Island Surf School is a mobile surf school on the island of Oléron, whose usual meeting point is the school hut on chemin des Mottes in Le Grand-Village. Rather than staying on a single beach, it moves around the island's beaches to find the best waves for each person's level: location and times depend on tides, wind and swell.

Lessons are open regardless of age or experience, in small groups, with experienced instructors. Boards and wetsuits are provided, and rental is available every day during lesson hours at the hut. High season is July and August, and the school also runs night sessions during full moons (one was announced for early August 2025).

The school also offers a surf camp in a renovated 135 m² house, rented as a whole for up to 12 people, including five 2-hour lessons from 250 EUR per person for a week. Booking is done online; payment is by cash, cheque or holiday vouchers.
