School Presentation
Ré Surf presents itself as the first surf school on the island of Ré. It is run by Rémy Cormier and welcomes students in a wooden hut on the beach or behind the dune, at Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré (Gros Jonc beach) and Les Portes-en-Ré (Lizay beach). It displays the French Surf School label of the French Surfing Federation for 2026, announces reopening on 4 April 2026 and bookings opening on 1 March 2026.
It offers surf lessons for beginners and to improve, from age 6 in summer if conditions allow, rather 8 when the water is cooler. Boards and wetsuits are provided: just bring a swimsuit and a towel. Lessons are organised around high tide, in a six-hour slot, and exact times are sent by SMS two days before. In case of cancellation, the school offers stand up paddle, surf-polo or a postponement, with a refund if the lesson cannot be held; only school-holiday lessons can be booked online.
The team includes, besides the manager, several instructors (Malou Poirier, Diego Mehal Birba, Mae, Noémie, Marie Ancelin), a trainee instructor and a receptionist. UWL Surfboards and Sooruz are among its partners.
