School Presentation

The Christophe Reinhardt surf school is a family-run business teaching on the beaches of Bidart and Guéthary. Its website tells the story of the family in Basque surfing: Bruno Reinhardt, Christophe's father, was among the first French surfers in the late 1950s and built his own plywood boards because none were available in France; he introduced his son Christophe to surfing at a very young age, and the next generation is surfing too.

The offer includes group discovery and improvement lessons (maximum 8 students per instructor, all ages and levels), private lessons in groups of up to 4, big-wave outings, packages for groups and works councils, bachelor parties and two stays: the Guéthary Surf Lodge and the Mama's Surf Club, reserved for women (June and October sessions). The family also rents apartments in Guéthary and Bidart.

Lessons take place at Erretegia beach, between Bidart and Guéthary, and at other spots on the coast (Biarritz, Anglet, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Hendaye) depending on conditions, with free minibus transfers to the spots. All instructors hold the state diploma (Brevet d'État). A board suited to the student's level and a Quiksilver or Roxy wetsuit are provided for the duration of the lesson; insurance and beach transport are included in the rates.
