Darrigood Surf School is the Hossegor branch of the École de Surf Côte Française (ESCF) network. It is run by Arnaud Darrigade, a state-qualified instructor, and has been based for many years on La Gravière beach, about 200 m north of the central beach. The school hut sits right on the sand.
Lessons last 1.5 hours, in groups of up to 8 formed by age and level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), from age 6 for children who can swim. Board and wetsuit are provided. The school offers single lessons, courses (Passion, Intensive), individual or small-group coaching, and a certificate at the end of a course.
It also rents, without lessons, foam and hard surfboards, bodyboards and wetsuits, by the hour or the week. The school displays the Qualité Tourisme label. The schedule is available online, with 4 departures per tide depending on the sandbank and weather.
