Big Mama Surf School

Big Mama Surf School is a surf school in Lacanau-Océan, at 4 avenue du Cantabria, operating for about fifteen years according to its website. It welcomes all levels: children, teens, adults, families and groups, with state-qualified instructors.

The offer includes individual or group surf and bodyboard lessons: a 2-hour introduction, a 4-hour "Big Découverte" over 2 days, a half-time formula of 10 hours during the week and a 5-day course. Formats for children, families, weekends, sunrise and sunset sessions and groups (stag and hen parties, birthdays, seminars) are available. Lesson prices include the board and wetsuit.

The school runs a surf shop and sells second-hand boards to clients and holidaymakers, the proceeds being used to renew its equipment each year. It has showers, changing rooms, a lounge and a small bar.

It is open all year: 8am-8pm from April to November, and on request the rest of the year.
