Mexican Caribbean Kitesurf Tulum

Mexican Caribbean Kitesurf, also known as MCKitesurf, is a water sports centre on the beach of the Ahau Tulum hotel, along the Boca Paila road in Tulum's hotel zone. It teaches kitesurfing, surfing and foiling, rents equipment and runs paddleboard tours. It says it has operated from the same spot for more than ten years.

Kitesurf lessons are open to all levels, from beginners (90% of its clients) to riders who want to move on to strapless or kitefoil. They are taught by IKO-certified instructors, one to one, with full equipment, helmet, life vest and wetsuit if needed. The kite gear is Slingshot. The centre also offers wing foil lessons, surf lessons with local instructors and foil surfing.

The centre is run by Mauricio with a team of instructors from several countries. It has a second base in El Cuyo, in Yucatán, at the Cucu hotel.

Kitesurf lessons from 9:00 to 12:00, 12:30 to 15:30 and 15:30 to 18:30; an extra 7:00 to 9:00 slot (2 h) if the others are full or for an early start. Three hours a day at most for beginners.
