CRFoil teaches surf foiling (hydrofoil) towed behind a boat in the bay of Playa Herradura, five minutes from Jacó and next to the Los Sueños marina, on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. The team says it has been foiling since 2016 and has over twenty years of water sports experience.
Lessons last two hours. You meet on the beach at Playa Herradura, then the boat takes you to calm water. Two instructors run each session: one drives the boat, the other coaches from on board. A session covers theory, balance and start-up drills, then repeated tows with a break and video review. A helmet and life jacket are provided.
Lessons are private or in small groups (2 to 4 people). The team also offers foil expeditions to islands with beach camping, for intermediate to advanced foilers.
