Kona Surf Tateyama (館山マリンアクティビティセンター)

Kona Surf is the marine activity centre in Tateyama, in southern Chiba prefecture. It carries on the activities of the Stiff windsurfing school, which closed its Chiba city store on 30 June 2023 after more than twenty years; the Stiff online shop continues in parallel.

The centre offers windsurfing, stand up paddle, windsurf foiling and wing rental and lessons, a repair workshop, a shop, a clubhouse with membership and a place to eat. Bookings are made by phone.

The former Stiff school, founded in 2001, worked with small groups, from one person, with experienced instructors including circuit pros; this approach is carried on in Tateyama.
