School Presentation

Clubloongchat is a watersports school and club on Na Jomtien Beach, near Pattaya, about two hours' drive from Bangkok. The club was founded in 1984 and is named after Loong Chat ("Uncle Chat"), a windsurfing pioneer in Thailand and first president of the Thai windsurfing association. His son Pop, a former national windsurfing champion, now runs the school and is secretary-general of the Thai Kiteboard and Wing Sports Association.

It teaches kitesurfing, wing foiling, windsurfing, Hobie catamaran sailing and stand-up paddle, in one-to-one lessons by instructors who claim more than fifteen years of experience. The club rents windsurf, kitesurf and wing foil gear, offers equipment storage and refers repairs to partners. An online surf shop and a beach cafe-bar complete the facilities.

Winds are most consistent from mid-February to mid-May (8 to 15 knot thermal wind in the middle of the day); the club also describes a winter monsoon season from mid-October to mid-February.
