Cabo Kite Center is a kitesurf school located directly on the beach at Cabo de la Vela, a Wayuu fishing village at the northern tip of La Guajira. The website quotes average wind of 25 knots about 330 days a year, on flat, shallow water that suits beginners.
Lessons are given in Spanish or English, privately, with full equipment: a discovery course, a complete 10-hour course and a 13-hour programme leading to a personal IKO certification. The school also rents gear from Duotone, North, Ozone, Mystic and Ion (complete sets, individual items, launch assistance and rescue boat) and runs downwinders along the coast.
For accommodation on site, the centre works with Posada Pujuru: chinchorro hammock or private cabin.
