Freedom Surf School is a surf school on Weligama Bay, on Sri Lanka's south coast. It was founded in 2012 by Ruwan Sanjeewa and describes itself as the largest school on the bay.
It offers surf lessons for all ages and levels, with a wide choice of boards, plus board rental. Weligama Bay has gentle waves that suit learners.
The school also sells surf-and-stay packages for beginner and intermediate surfers: one lesson a day, a board during the lesson, and a room at the Freedom villa. Bookings are made online or by WhatsApp.
