Aotearoa Surf (Te Arai)

Aotearoa Surf is a surf school running since 2002, an hour north of Auckland. Its home base is Te Arai, where white sand banks suit learners, and it also teaches at Mangawhai, Orewa and Omaha.

The offer covers 2-hour group surf lessons and private lessons, paddle boarding, women's programmes, kids and youth camps, after-school and holiday programmes, school and corporate groups, and guided surf tours along the north coast. Instructors hold ISA and first aid qualifications.

The school also runs surf-and-stay packages in eco pods and glamping at Te Arai or a lodge in Mangawhai, and operates an online shop and a hire service (boards, wetsuits, paddleboards, skateboards).
