Learn 2 Surf Waipu Cove is a surf school working from Waipu Cove beach in Northland. Grae and Ellen Snelling, who moved over from Australia at the end of 2016, took it over in October 2017 from its founders Daniel and Emma.
The school is accredited by Surfing NZ, and its instructors hold ISA coaching certificates and first aid training. It offers 2-hour group lessons, 3-day and 5-day courses, private lessons, 6 or 8-week adult progression sessions, after-school surfing, school groups, surf parties and corporate events.
Boards, wetsuits and bodyboards can be hired by the hour or by the day. The meeting point is Waipu Cove beach, where the school's large van is easy to spot.
