Costa Rica Dive and Surf is a dive and surf centre that began in Dominical and is now based in Bahía Ballena, Uvita, 200 m from the entrance to Marino Ballena National Park. The company also keeps a shop in Dominical, near the beach break.
On the surf side it claims 17 years of experience along the Ballena coast. ISA-certified instructors and lifeguards teach beginners, intermediates and groups on sandy-bottom beaches with waves averaging 2 to 4 ft, using soft-top boards. A van takes students to another spot when conditions are poor; board rentals are also available.
The centre also offers scuba diving and snorkelling at Caño Island and in Marino Ballena, as well as whale watching.
