Manuel Antonio Surf School

Manuel Antonio Surf School (MASS) was founded in 2004 by Costa Rican surfer Luis Gatgens and his wife Jessica. It presents itself as the first surf school in the Manuel Antonio and Quepos area, on the central Pacific coast.

Instructors are bilingual and trained in lifeguarding, water safety and first aid. The method prepares students on land and in the water: balance-board sessions, paddling and pop-up drills in a pool, then practice on the gentle beaches of Manuel Antonio and Isla Damas.

The school offers daily lessons (8 am and 1 pm sessions), half-day technique clinics, a surf and tour day to Dominical and surf camp stays. Pick-up from hotels and rentals in the Manuel Antonio area is included in the booking form.
